What it is like being a face painter?

This is a question that’s frequently asked by adults and kids alike. So what is it like to work as a face painter?

Izzy-

Working as a face painter in Los Angeles does come with its challenges *cough* traffic *cough* and rewards. For me, being a face painter is a great opportunity to meet people and share my art. I also love to spark that creative side in the guests I come in contact with. It’s a great feeling when a child tells you they want to grown up to be a face painter or an artist in general. They share how they love to color and draw at school or at home. I enjoy encouraging them to pursue their passions.

My all time favorite part of being a face painter is the reveal moment. The look of awe on a guest’s face when they first see themselves after being painted is magical. I truly love transforming and adorning guests.

The toughest parts of being a face painter is when you have a very long line and limited time left. It’s heart breaking when you have to turn guests away as your line is already closed. I try to squeeze in additional guests when ever possible, but I also have to make sure I have enough time to get to my next event. I would stay and paint all day if I could!"
